Format :-
========
16 groups of 4 people will be RANDOMLY drawn (Group A thru to Group P) and these group matches will be played on eight dates from the 25th May '09 up to and including 17th June '09 (Mon Night or Wed Night), PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH PLAYER WILL PLAY ALL OF THEIR THREE GROUP GAMES ON ONLY ONE OF THESE DATES, all games in the group stage will be best of 7 frames.
Top two group finishers will progress into the Main Event and the bottom two in each group will progress into the Supplementary Plate Event, in the event of a tie for group positions then legs aggregate will count, if still a tie on legs then the result of the match between the two tied players will count.
Seedings will come into effect for the knockout stages in terms of where you finish in your group and every player will have a pre-determined path to the final, these draws will not be known to any players until after the completion of the group stages (except for the tournament organiser and tournament sponsor), it will be impossible for any player to meet one of their group stage opponents until the grand final in both events (therefore if you get a group of death then you will not meet any of them in the last 32, last 16, quarters or semi finals, just to clear that up).
Last 32 Supplementary Event matches to be played on Mon 22nd June & Wed 24th June, best of 11 frames (SIXTEEN THIRD PLACE FINISHERS TO PLAY AGAINST THE SIXTEEN FOURTH BEST GROUP FINISHERS).
Last 32 Main Event matches to be played on Mon 29th June & Wed 1st July, best of 11 frames (SIXTEEN FIRST PLACE FINISHERS TO PLAY AGAINST THE SIXTEEN SECOND BEST GROUP FINISHERS).
Last 16 matches of Supplementary Event and Main Event to be played on Mon 6th July and Wed 8th July respectively, best of 11 frames.
Quarter Final matches of Supplementary Event and Main Event to be played on Mon 13th July, best of 11 frames in Plate and best of 13 frames in Main event.
Semi Final matches of Supplementary Event and Main Event to be played on Weds 15th July, best of 13 frames.
The Finals in both Supplementary Event and Main Event to be played on Mon 20th July, best of 13 frames Plate and best of 15 frames in Main event.
==============================================
Rules :-
======
All games to be played to current 'BLACKBALL' rules, as played in the Warwick and Leamington leagues.
Both players to lag for choice of whether to break in the first frame, break shot will then alternate for the remainder of the match, both in the group stages and ko stages.
In the event of a foul, oncoming player to ask permission from their opponent to pick the cue ball up (only if the white ball has not been potted).
A player going in off and catching the white ball in the jaws of the bag will NOT lose the frame.
No referees except for the final in both events.
Fixtures will be issued out to each player by way of this forum or text message.
PLEASE POST ON THIS FORUM THREAD AND YOUR NAME WILL BE ADDED TO THE ENTRY LIST.

I echo those comments Franc, without the help and support of Charlie, Sati, Kul and Kam then this event simply would not have gone ahead so massive appreciation to them.
Also thanks to you Franc again for your sponsorship which helped us attract more players at a reduced price entry fee.
Next year's event will be held some time between April and June 2010 as we don't want to clash with the World Cup when that starts.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what we can do to improve it then please post your thoughts or contact me individually to discuss. _________________ www.leampool.co.uk

Was pleased that Robbie finally got his hands on the trophy having come so close the previous years, much credit to Adam who hardly put a foot wrong in the final yet still didnt do enough to win, albeit because Rob hardly missed a ball.
Well done to Whitty who I thought had played the best in the plate overall so a much deserved winner and PP proved a few doubters wrong and looks a player with a big future bearing in mind he hasn't been playing at this level for long.
Roll on next year !!!!!!! _________________ www.leampool.co.uk

Well done again Robbie, great final mate and a deserving winner. |

Great match last night between Robbie and Adam and I think overall as good a match as I've seen and played in great spirit. Both players should be comended for their play and their attitude to the game in a match that could have gone either way.
Well done Robbie and unlucky Adam you should both hold your heads high after a match like that.
Also well done Whitty and unlucky Paul agree with Brian Whitty a deserved winner and played the best pool throughout the plate knockout stages. Paul took a couple of good scalps along the way and although didn't play to his best in the final still had a great tournament.
Well done to all 4 players last nigh and thanks to all involved in the organisation especially Brian reminding us all who when and where we had to play throughout this event. _________________ "Up the Hammers" |
